What actually happens on a free home design visit?

No pressure, no salesperson on commission, no fake discounts. Here's what to expect when you book one with us.

If you've been quoted by a national fitted-furniture company before, you'll know the routine: a five-hour evening visit, a starting price that mysteriously halves if you sign tonight, and a follow-up call every other week for a year.

We don't work like that, partly because we're a small family team and frankly don't have time, and partly because it's a horrible way to do business. Here's what a free home design visit with us actually looks like.

First, we book a 45-minute slot at a time that suits you — usually mid-morning, lunchtime or early evening. One of the family team (Jo, James or Sophie depending on the area) will arrive on the dot.

We measure the room properly — every wall, the ceiling height in three places, the floor level, the door swings and the existing skirting. We'll talk through what you want to store, look at finish samples we've brought with us, and sketch a couple of options on the spot.

We leave with measurements and notes, and you keep the samples. Within five working days we'll email a written quote with a CAD-style elevation showing what the wardrobe (or kitchen, or under-stair cupboard) will look like. If you'd like to think about it for six months, that's fine — the quote is good for 90 days and we don't chase.

Costs nothing, takes 45 minutes, no obligation either way. Most of our customers tell us afterwards that it was the most relaxed quote conversation they'd had in years.
