From measure to install: how long does bespoke fitted furniture actually take?

· About us · 4 min read

A realistic timeline for a typical Dorset install — from your first call to the day we walk out of your house.

Lead times in fitted furniture are wildly variable — anywhere from two weeks to nine months depending on who you ask. Here's what to expect from us specifically.

Week 0: You enquire. We confirm a free home design visit, usually within 5–10 working days for anywhere in Dorset.

Week 1–2: We visit, measure, and discuss the brief. You keep the finish samples we bring with us.

Week 2–3: You receive a written quote with a CAD-style elevation. No deposit at this stage.

Week 3–4: If you go ahead, we take a small deposit and slot the build into the workshop schedule. Typical wait from sign-off to install start is 4–8 weeks for wardrobes, slightly longer for kitchens.

Install day(s): A simple under-stair cupboard fits in a single day. A typical fitted wardrobe is 2–3 days on site. A walk-in or kitchen door replacement is 4–7 days. We arrive on time, dust-sheet everything, and clean up at the end of each day.

End-to-end, most projects take 8–12 weeks from first phone call to final reveal. We're never the fastest, but we're consistent — and we don't bring forward the install date by skimping on the build.
