A recent project for one of our clients. Building bespoke spare room storage to surround her treasured piano.
We’ve had some unusual requests over the years but our customer asking us to design storage around her piano was a new one!
The Problem
Despite the unconventional request, our bespoke furniture makers in Dorset were more than happy to help out our client in need. This customer wanted to incorporate coat storage, music storage, and fitted home office furniture and storage in one space - and we were more than happy to help.
Combining all of these elements into one space and creating a cohesive look was going to be a challenge, not to mention matching the customer’s prized possession – their piano. But our customers know to trust us to get the work done, and to get it done to a high standard, and that’s exactly what we did, by creating bespoke spare room storage that fit their every need.
Our Solution
We made use of the space available for this spare room storage by incorporating over-head storage – a clever way to safely store treasured items such as awards or photos.
We used bespoke shelving and the fitted home office furniture included file drawer storage and adjustable shelving in the cupboards for important documents. In the left hand cupboard, our customer went for long hanging so they could store their coats nicely and include shelving for their shoes.
As for the piano, the customers were able to safely store their music, and the chosen finish for the storage was Painted Oak Ivory. This worked well with the colour of the walls and complemented the piano as well.
