Bespoke Fitted Bookcase Case Study

This customer needed space to store their personal library while maximising space.

For smaller rooms, getting the right furniture, like a custom bookcase, can make a huge difference in maximising your space.

The Problem

For this project, our client came to us with a dream of having more shelf space for her personal library. With only her bedroom to store books in, she wanted to utilise the limited space to create a quality fitted bookcase to show off her collection. With this in mind, we had to design around the bed, dressing table and wardrobes. This project was all about fitting in storage in those wasted spaces that often go unnoticed.

We wanted our client to know that bookshelves can fit seamlessly into any room shape or design.

Our Solution

The colour scheme our customer selected was Lissa Oak. A classic shade that blended well with the blue walls in her room.

To begin with, we added a shelf above the bed for our customer to display some of her favourite books. We then added three shelves above the dressing table, which made great use of some otherwise wasted space.

We created a large, custom bookcase for the main wall, with space in the middle for the TV.

Our favourite thing about this fitted bookcase design is the adjustable shelves. They allowed our customer to create the shelves she needs so her books fit in perfectly. For book lovers, this also means no more damaged covers. Adjustable shelving is perfect for fitted bookcases. At Custom Creations we also offer adjustable shelves for office cupboards, ideal for files and boxes that need to be kept safe.

By fitting a custom bookshelf for this customer, we were able to reduce wasted space and keep that homely feel for their bedroom. Want to know more about our bespoke bedroom furniture solutions in Dorset and Hampshire? Why not request a brochure to find some inspiration?
